Sources of TUL Problems
Common TUL Opening Problems
Turbulance is Not Installed
When you double-click your TUL file, you may see a dialog box from your operating system stating that it "Cannot Open This File Type". Customarily, this means that Turbulance is not installed on %%os%%. You won't be able to double-click to open your TUL because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens TUL files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Wrong Version of Turbulance is Installed
Occasionally, you might have an outdated version of Turbulance installed that's incompatible with your Turbulance Level File type. If you do not have the proper version Turbulance (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. The primary cause of this problem is that your Turbulance Level File file was created by a different (newer) version of Turbulance than what's installed.
Tip: If you right-click on your TUL file, then select "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), you can obtain hints about what version you need.
Regardless, most of the TUL file opening problems relate to not having the right version of Turbulance installed.
Other TUL File Opening Causes
Assuming you have the right Turbulance version installed, other problems can prevent you from opening TUL files. If you're still experiencing problems opening TUL files, there could be other computer problems. These other problems include (listed in order from most to least common):
- TUL file references in the Windows Registry are broken
- Mistaken removal of the Windows registry TUL description
- Turbulance or another TUL application experienced a flawed installation
- Your TUL file is corrupted (issues with your Turbulance Level File file itself)
- Past or present virus infection has affected your TUL
- TUL-related hardware has device drivers that obsolete
- Too many applications are open on your PC to load your Turbulance Level File file successfully
